Purpose: This paper examines the point of view of managers on the growing phenomena of Metaverse and NFTs. Managers' approach to innovation could be crucial for business competitiveness, and the research question that this study aims to answer is the following: What do manager think, did and are intended to do with respect to Metaverse and NFTs investments? Methodology: We investigate what manager think, did and are intended to do with respect to Metaverse and NFTs investments by using an extensive survey conducted on over 100 CEOs/top managers submitted to both SMEs and large enterprises from over 20 different industrial sectors Findings: We find that managers consider Metaverse and NFTs important to strengthen a firm’s intangibles in the light of the resource-based view and, as such, useful to create value in the next future Managerial implications: The survey also revealed the significant potential of Metaverse and NFTs in shaping companies' future business models. Research limitations: The work is based on a survey with only 103 respondents. Originality: The survey, addressed different characteristics of Metaverse and NFT phenomena through a mix of both qualitative and quantitative questions to obtain a database that it is difficult to find within these recent lines of research
