This chapter starts by setting out the defining characteristics of migration and the political concept of citizenship, with a brief survey of current institutions and policies regarding migration. The core argument for the cosmopolitan interpretation of migration and citizenship is then introduced. Concluding recommendations for the creation of a supranational institutional framework of migratory cosmopolitanism are formulated thereafter.
