L’ammissione nell’Unione europea: requisiti e procedure all’ombra del metodo

Admission to the EU has occurred through various stages, during which requirements and procedures have developed, primarily through practice, later codified in the most recent revisions of the Treaties. The article seeks to identify the underlying rationale of these developments and to compare it with some of the cornerstones of the process of European integration. The aim is to provide a framework for interpreting the current phase of EU enlargement.
