Liberalism’s Prefixes Issue: Ill-, anti-, a-, non-, post-,

Liberalism has a rich non-linear evolutionary history and can vary wildly in its manifestations, despite displaying some core general principles. Depending on the emphasis placed on the primacy of particular tenets, certain interpretations of liberalism can clash with each other. Ideologies challenging the interpretations are as diverse as liberalism can be. Such ideologies are studied mostly by their opponents or critics, who accuse them either of being, at worst, purely negationist—rejecting liberalism without offering constructive alternatives—or, at best, of being incoherent in the face of well-defined and articulate liberalism.
