Pubblica amministrazione e fattori ESG

The term ESG, which has been developed in the private sector, expresses the need for companies to take on environmental and social interests. Its relevance has grown rapidly and its importance is likely to increase, especially because of a recent European directive. Public administrations may be the guardians of ESG, but may also be called upon to comply with it. The application of ESC standards to administrations is not a given, but can be useful, provided that the peculiarities of the administrations themselves and the legislative definition of the interests they pursue are taken into account.

I fattori ESG, sviluppati nel settore privato, esprimono l’esigenza di indurre anche le imprese a farsi carico di interessi di natura ambientale e sociale. Essi hanno avuto un rapido sviluppo e la loro importanza è destinata ad aumentare, soprattutto per via di una recente direttiva europea. Le pubbliche amministrazioni possono esserne i custodi, ma possono anche essere chiamate ad applicarli. L’applicazione di questi fattori alle amministrazioni non è scontata, ma può essere utile, a condizione di tenere conto della peculiarità delle amministrazioni stesse e della definizione normativa degli interessi da esse perseguiti.
