In Islamic societies, the relationship between Mother and children is inspired by the Qur'ān and draws lessons from the exegesis of Islamic legal scholars (ulema') from the Hadīth, i.e., the sayings and behavior of the Prophet Muhammad. Over time and in the different regions where Islam has spread, certain behaviors from earlier local traditions, but also new lifestyles acquired later in contact with colonial societies, have influenced practice and are now part of the social life of modern Islam. However, particular aspects remain constant, and examining them helps to understand some fundamental characteristics that are difficult to change, short of cultural growth, which is ongoing but which wars in many countries have interrupted. This study presents some practices related to marriage, divorce and inheritance, which influence the mother-daughter relationship and affect their harmony and limit their freedom and happiness. References to some literary texts are also brought in, which, inspired by reality, present the problems related to girls' educational patterns. Finally, mention will also be made of the migration issue and its impact on the customs of Western societies in a globalized world.
