The article examins the emerging tensions in Europe vis à vis the growing migration flows and sets out some topics relating to human rights, useful for relaunching intercultural dialogue in Eurpe with the countries of the southern and eastern shores of the Mediterranean. It examines the concept of human dignity according to some Muslim philosophers as 'Abid al-Jabiri, Taha 'Abdelrahman and Hasan Hanafi. It compares their opinions with the syrian poet philosopher Adonis' idea of a multicultural city.
