The article analyses the impact of Donald Trump’s Presidency on Sino-European relations, with a focus on security, trade and human rights policies. The political developments in the US in the first two-year period of Trump’s Presidency (2016-2018) represented an opportunity to enhance cooperation in different fields between China and the European Union. Nevertheless, starting from 2018, the American policy towards China dramatically shifted, with important consequences to Sino-European relations. To this extent, the EU’s negative perceptions about China became the norm, with serious implications from a political and economic point of view.
