Imprese di Comunitt nelle Politiche di Rigenerazione Urbana: Definire ed Inquadrare il Contesto Italiano (The Role of Community Enterprises in Urban Regeneration Policy: An Overview of the Italian Context)

The role of particular community based organisations called "community enterprises" is strongly emerging on urban regeneration processes across Italy and Europe in the last decade. Community enterprises are organised with different layouts and are distinguished by the role in development and regeneration of community assets in defined geographical areas. This paper proposes an opening framework of how these organizations work towards the achievement of these objectives, explaining how they developed interaction paths with different urban stakeholders and what were the outcomes produced in terms of policy. The paper proposes an analysis of the Italian context proceeding from the institutionalized organisations to the less formal ones: community co-operatives, social enterprises and urban commons linked to social movements.
