Un sorriso senza offesa. La satira religiosa e i suoi limiti

In this essay the Author suggests a way to overcome the conflict between the freedom of expression and the protection of religious feelings, rising with the religious satire, by analyzing some of the most relevant leading-case. The trade-off between a libertarian attitude and the protection of religious feelings in the contemporary multicultural societies needs to be updated, by taking into account one of the very same libertarian arguments, i.e. the critical contribution of the satire to the public debate. Thus, by implementing the Frankfurtian Diskursethik, the satire shall not be considered legitim but fulfilling the essential conditions of the public discourse: first of all, the respect for the other and for her dignity.
