The relationship between ethics and finance has always been a controversial and complex one. But there has been recently a turning point. In the world of finance, there is a new awareness of the importance of the ethical dimension, and a wave of initiatives to consolidate ethical foundations of financial activity. In the world of ethics, in turn, attention is growing on the possible role of finance for poverty reduction and the common good. The contributions we have collected in this volume explore some of the changes underway in the relationship between ethics and finance and provide evidence of this new and more constructive interplay.
