Las elecciones de Franco en Zaragoza (1948-1973): una aproximación local a un asunto transnacional

this article analyzes the local elections for town councilmen representing families which were hold in Zaragoza between 1948 and 1973 contextualizing them within the framework of the European dictatorships during the Cold War. In order to achieve it, the mentioned elections are studied from two different perspectives along the following pages. On the one hand, they are studied according to their functionality to the state apparatus. On the other hand, we examine them focusing our attention on the population's response against them as well as their effectiveness as a tool of political mobilization and their capacity to obtain popular support.
